Agile

Agile

... to build the solution right!

"Agility" is the buzz word of the decade in the web development field and beyond... rightfully so!
Technology, business and our users are changing at an ever increasing pace.
Our project management methodology needed to adapt itself to this fact.

Individuals and interactions over processes and tools
Working software over comprehensive documentation
Customer collaboration over contract negotiation
Responding to change over following a plan

Extract from the agile manifesto of 2001

Value first

At the heart of the agile methodology are the notions of "Business value" and "Complexity".
To be agile is to prioritize the to-do list ("backlog") in this order:

  1. Top Business value, low Complexity
  2. Top Business value, higher Complexity
  3. Lesser Business value, low Complexity
  4. STOP! -- you never want to be doing complex things that have no business value!

Iteration

Thanks to the latest tools (Continuous integration) and frameworks (Ruby on Rails, Symfony,...),
an agile team is able to deliver features on a regular basis.

Whether it be every fortnite using SCRUM or multiple times a day if using DevOps,
what matters is value to the end-users fast!
So that their (quantitative and qualitative) feedback can enrich the next iterations...
